Visit to the Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies

Students form Primary school Lučko visited the Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies known as CRTA at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding within extracurricular activities "Robotics" and "3D modeling that are planned in the project "Be a STEMfluencer".

The Center's activities are focused towards the research and development of advanced robotic applications in industry and medicine, where traditional automation and human work are to be replaced by flexible, versatile and adaptive robotic systems.
With professional guidance, the students had the opportunity to see various projects that the center is currently working on. Some of the robots that delighted our STEMfluencers are the Ronna robotic system for use in neurosurgery, ASAP, which aims to develop a system for autonomous inspection and prediction of the integrity of transport infrastructure, robots and machines for industrial applications, and a demonstration of the work of the happy dog called Spot. Beside this exciting oportunity to see how robots work and are used in the real world, the students had the opportunity to see the room where the most precise parts for assembling robots and other machines are made.
At the end of the visit, each student received pendants made on a 3D printer as a souvenir, which was a special surprise from CRTA employees.
