Four teachers from the partner school Lučko participated in a workshop on making natural cosmetics called "House of Magical Grass" at family farm Jakopović in Novi Marof. This is one of many workshops/educations planned within this project to strengthen the competences of school teachers od Primary school Lučko.
Workshop started by visits to fields of lemongrass, lavender and immortelle where teachers had opportunity to pick some herbs and enjoy the scents of these medicinal plants. This was followed by a professional lecture on the cultivation and processing of herbs, drying, distillation and the production of natural cosmetics. The acquired theoretical knowledge was applied in practice through the distillation of immortelle and the production of natural cosmetic products: lip balms, salves, creams and micellar water.
This was an inspiring and useful experience that the teachers will use to design creative curricular and extracurricular activities in the STEM garden.
