Education and practical workshop for making face cream

Education and practical workshop for making face cream

On Friday, April 21. activity related to the STEM garden and active citizenship was held in Primary school Lučko as part of the Be a STEMfluencer project.

The students of the ecological group and young chemists participated in educational and practical excersize of making a face cream under the guidance of professor Ana Ćurković. The main ingredients of our cream are vegetable oil and lemon balm hydrolate (Melissa officinalis). Vegetable oil can be added to each cream according to the specific needs of every skin type. The oil we used is apricot kernel oil, and it is recommended for the care of sensitive skin prone to allergic reactions. Motherwort hydrosol is very mild and gentle, so it is often used for the skin care products for babies. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and is a strong antioxidant, so it is used for eczema, dermatitis, skin irritation, burns, as well as for the care of dry, mature skin. Finally, we added Geranium essential oil, which with its intense floral, sweet and refreshing notes balances, soothes and improves mood. It soothes and is used for great exhaustion and stress, physical weakness (which results from mental exhaus-tion) and fatigue. It relaxes and balances the mood and emotions of children and adults.
By choosing oils, hydrolates and essential oils, our STEMfluencers added a touch of their personality and creativity. With this and other educational workshops planned, we are preparing for the parish festival and the Day of the Municipality of Stupnik, when we plane to present the project to the local community in front of the parish church and sell products that the students made with love.
